1. Towards your quiz grade:
Check the online calendar for dates when you see *GIZMO written. On those dates there will be an interactive lesson to "play" with and then a short assessment. Each GIZMO you work through will count 5 pts towards the total number of quiz points you have, up to 10% of your total quiz grade.
To access the GIZMOs, you must first "join" my class on the ExploreLearning website:
1. Go to the ExploreLearning website: Click on the link hhhttp://www.explorelearning.com/
2. Click on the button at the top of the page that states "Enroll in a Class". The class code is: PEFXRRHPZF

4. Create a NEW USER profile. I would imagine you do not already have an Explore
Learning account, so click that you need to create one.

5. Fill in ALL the information and hit "Submit"6. This is the first page you should see
of the ExploreLearning class for MAT 120

6. Pick an appropriate GIZMO for the lesson we are doing in class and hit"Launch Gizmo" . Be sure to take the assessment at the end so I can give you points for your extra credit.
2. Extra Credit Towards Each Test:Mindmaps
Extra credit will be available for every test. You can create an online mindmap of the chapter (pay attention to the grading rubric), and up to 5% can be earned towards that test. To earn the extra credit you must make the mindmap PUBLIC and share a link with me BY midnight the night before in-class the review day. - YOU MUST EMAIL ME THE LINK BEFORE MIDNIGHT (Ch 9 REVIEW is due Thursday night, Sept 1, before midnight!)
Grading Rubric - this includes all the expectations for your mindmap

3. Towards the Final exam:
For those students who are earning 80% or above on the homework average the day of the 5th in-class test, there will be extra credit available for you to do that will be applied to your final exam score - up to 6%
*THere will be NO extra credit applied towards the homework grade, since it is possible to redo the questions until you earn 100% (before the due date).
